James had a job interview this week with another company. We have been debating what he should do about his job lately, and this opening kind of just came up this past week. They haven't officially offered yet, but we are feeling pretty hopeful. It's been nice to see James get excited about new possibilities. He NEEDS that! Yes, his company now brought on one new property so he at least has been busy, but I do feel bad for him as he has tried really hard and just hasn't seen much success.
I got called to be a Relief society teacher, in addition to my calling as a ward missionary. I'm by far the youngest teacher, but am excited that it's a once-a-month thing and plus, I need to get more involved in relief society anyways.
We also had Shaela's 4 kids over the weekend. SHe went with Jared to a work thing in Tuscon and I was a mother of 6, driving a suburban. The only hard part was Tommie didn't really sleep so I got a little tired. But other than that, it was fun to see Jackson and weston actually play NICE together and it was fun to have some older kids around. We definitely need some more kids! :)
As for our garden, about 2 months ago, I completely gave up on trying to get all the nut grass and weeds out. That, and Jimmer had made his way in the garden and eaten more plants than I knew dogs even liked. I was so mad and realized that was the end of my gardening with a puppy. Then, a huge rain storm hit which brought some serious weed growth...taller than jackson. Then, there was those freezing cold weeks right after. So, I decided everything had frozen over and quite watering everything. I definitely decided that at least we had enjoyed spinach and cilantro. I went out there this morning, prepared to just take the weed-wacker to the whole thing. But, lo and behold, some things, besides weeds were growing. Despite the corn, beans, cucumbers, lettuce, spinach, and herbs all dying, we had some carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, and peas still growing. I actually think some of the weeds help shelter a lot from freezing over. Try to explain that in some sort of gospel-related parable! :)
