Jackson and the crawdads

While at the family reunion at the cabin, the younger boy cousins were way into catching crawdads. Mason had built a huge trap that captured at least 30 of them at a time. Jackson was fascinated as he saw the boys pull the crawdads out one at a time. On every single one, he kept asking " Hey mom, is that a crawdad?" After saying yes over and over and over, I finally started getting annoyed. "Jackson",  I said, "they are ALL crawdads. That's just what they are." "Oh," he said, kinda sad. "That's too bad. I wonder what happened to all the craw- mom's!" Ha! I never expected that answer. :) 

Happy birthday and update on little Tommie's head

 July 13 meant Tommie turned 2! He celebrated with a bubble machine, a new Rody (bouncy animal to ride on), and cake and ice cream at Grandma's. He is such a sweet boy!

July also meant another scan on Tommie's head. The neurosurgeon revealed some good and bad news. Good news: the back fracture healed. Bad news: new fracture on the front of his head! I knew exactly when it had happened as I had been worried about him that day too. But, yep, another fracture. The doctor said it is actually pretty normal to have 2 since their coordination is so off from the first fracture. So, back to the tests we went and once again, his brain remained completely untouched! (Well, for now anyways--- if he has any problems in the future-- we will always blame it on that :) )
